Donegal manager Joe John Doherty fears that the recession could further deplete his squad next year.

Earlier this year, Doherty called on local employers to provide work for members of his squad who had lost their jobs, Since then, some have been forced to emigrate, including team captain Rory Kavanagh and defender Neil McGee.

"There were people saying at the time why should the GAA player get priority over someone else, but I think that people who are saying that are missing the point," he said in the Irish Daily Star.
