McCloskey joining Exiles
14 January 2010

Leitrim midfielder Gary McCloskey has confirmed his intention to play for London this season.

The 29-year-old, who lives and works in the English capital, travelled back and forth to line out for Leitrim last year but, in what is a major boost for the Exiles, he has now decided to throw in his lot with Noel Dunning's men.

McCloskey will make the switch after his club Tir Chonaill Gaels' involvement in the All-Ireland club football championship ends. They will face Munster champions Kilmurry-Ibrickane in the quarter-final on Sunday week.

"I will be looking to get my transfer papers as soon as possible," the former Leitrim captain said.

"I definitely won't be playing for Leitrim this year. It was tough coming back and over last year and travelling took up a lot of time.
