18 January 2010
The bad weather delayed the resumption of the AIB GAA All-Ireland junior club championships for two weeks but the action returns at all levels next weekend.
At senior level, it's Kilmurry-Ibrickane (Clare) v Tir Chonail Gaels (London) in the football quarter-final. The intermediate hurling and football semi-finals also go ahead while at junior level there's a quarter-final and semi-final in both hurling and football.
KILMURRY-IBRICKANE v TIR CHONAIL GAELS The TG4 cameras will be present in Ruislip on Sunday for 'live' coverage of the AIB GAA Football Senior Club Championship Quarter-Final between the Clare and Munster champions, Kilmurry-Ibrickane and London kingpins, Tir Chonail Gaels. Throw-in will be at 2.00pm.The winners will play Portlaoise in the semi-final next month while Corofin (Galway) meet St.Gall's (Antrim) in the other semi-final.
Kilmurry-Ibrickane head into the quarter-final after winning a very competitive Munster championship in which they beat Dromcollogher-Broadford (Limerick), Stradbally (Waterford) and Kerins O Rahillys (Kerry). They conceded a total of just 0-17 in those three games which is a remarkable tribute to their defensive solidity.
Tir Chonail Gaels are bidding for a semi-final place for a third successive year. They lost to Corofin (Galway) by 2-7 to 0-6 last year and to Crossmaglen Rangers (Armagh) by 0-10 to 0-6 in 2008.
